It’s been a busy month for the students and staff at Public School 255.
The students celebrated “Poem in your Pocket” day, in honor of National Poetry Month. Second, third, fourth and fifth graders at the school, 1866 East 17th Street, recited poems in front of invited guests, and the pre−K, Kindergarten and first grade classes also had an opportunity to dance, sing or recite a poem in order to celebrate “The Week of the Young Child.” For these events, the gym was decorated by artwork created by the children.
The children were taught the song “We all laugh in the same language” for the finale, and parents and guests were invited to join in. It was a special song, which celebrated the diversity of the school.
