Pucker up to a real live Brooklyn sea lion

Pucker up to a real live Brooklyn sea lion

Forget the cash cows, the New York Aquarium has its own bank of ‘cash seals’ in lovable pinnipeds, such as Duke, whose outpouring of affection doesn’t come cheap at $200−a−pop but, apparently, is worth every penny for adventurous Borough Park visitor Catharine Tolan, 18, who helps kick off the wildlife conservation facility’s exciting new program, California Sea Lion Encounters, with boyfriend Peter Aleshin, 18, of Bensonhurst.

Begin your 80−minute voyage with an informational session, followed by a tour of the feed room and an up−close meet−and−greet session with a friendly sea lion.

California Sea Lion Encounters take place daily, 9:30−11 a.m. Check in with the session facilitator in the main lobby of the aquarium, West 8th Street and Surf Avenue, by 9 a.m.
