Mazzone True Value will be hosting its annual pumpkin festival, now in its fifth year, 470 Court Street, corner of Fourth Place between Court and Clinton streets, October 3 (rain date: October 10) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
As a Halloween celebration, the event was created as a way of thanking the communities that have contributed so much to the growth of this Carroll Gardens business since first opening its doors 59 years ago.
Mazzone True Value will have on hand more than 25,000 pounds of pumpkins of all sizes, the paint and tools to design and decorate the perfect pumpkin, and a clown to ensure everyone is having a good time.
Approximately 20 other businesses from Carroll Gardens and from Cobble Hill will be participating. Some will be handing out free popcorn, cotton candy, refreshments, and gifts, while others will be manning the pony rides, providing demonstrations, applying face paint, and assisting with the pumpkin decorating — also all free of charge.
Additionally, Groundworks, a landscape design firm, will be sponsoring a pumpkin carving contest. Pumpkins range from $2-$7 and will be available for purchase through October 31.
