World famous Reiki teacher Frans Stiene, co-founder of the International House of Reiki and the Shibumi Reiki Association, is coming to Park Slope during the New York leg of his latest global tour to attend the launch of the Brooklyn Classical Reiki Centre.

Based out of the Devi Yoga studio, the Brooklyn Classical Reiki Centre aims to bring this blend of Buddhist and martial arts philosophy to the people of Park Slope. Classes will take place in a new and innovative format with students able to practice and learn at their own pace through evening classes backed up by optional weekend workshops.

Founded by Heather Alexander, a foreign correspondent for BBC News and Park Slope resident, the grand opening of the Brooklyn Classical Reiki Centre will be held at 7:30 p.m.,September 26 in the main Park Slope Yoga Center, 837 Union Street.

The grand opening is free and open to all. Classes start October 5 and meet Mondays from 8-10 p.m. and Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. The price is $20 per class, with 50 percent off the first class.
