Avenue D is twinkling for the holidays %u2013 thanks to the big-hearted efforts of its community.
Members of the Avenue D Merchants Association celebrated the street illumination with a reception at Tropical Paradise Restaurant, 1250 Utica Avenue, attended by area residents and dignitaries.
The lighting, from Albany Avenue to Kings Highway, “creates a beautiful holiday spirit for the shoppers at our neighborhood establishments,” said Association President Terrence LaPierre.
Now in its fifth year, the spectacle was coordinated in conjunction with Consolidated Edison.
