To The Editor:
I attended the 14th annual salute to veterans at Public School 216 on Avenue X in Brooklyn.
The school’s principal, Celia Kaplinsky, teacher Ann Pollack and their students produced a wonderful presentation. The salute to veterans was attended by members of Korean War veterans, Jewish war veterans, American legionnaires, Brooklyn Key Chapter of Ex-Prisoners of War and two military personnel from Fort Hamilton army base.
The students, from pre-kindergarteners to fifth graders, performed beautifully. Public School 216 has instilled a pride of patriotism in their students. The attending veterans and their families were delighted with the performance.
I want to thank Ms. Pollack, the students and everyone else involved for their splendid production.
