Temple B’nai Israel now boasts a “Garden of Peace.”
The “beautiful” oasis made with “much love and devotion” by members of the Midwood Active Adults Program, which operates inside the synagogue at 4815 Avenue I, was dedicated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and luncheon, attended by the green-thumbed group responsible for its creation and city dignitaries.
Among the guests were Assemblymember Helene Weinstein and representatives of the New York City Department for the Aging, both of whom helped fund the serene spot where members and their loved ones can reflect and relax.
“Gardens, such as this one, help build teamwork,” said Program Director Jacqueline Florio.
A choral presentation capped the festivities.
