A gauze bandage supplied the celebratory ribbon when three generations of patients joined medical workers and borough officials to help open a new medical facility in Downtown Brooklyn.
Patients can now see their primary care physician and specialists under one roof at Preferred Health Partners (PHP)’s Downtown Center at 447 Atlantic Avenue, whose state-of-the-art features include digital mammography and an electronic system for keeping medical records. The system allows doctors to access a patient’s files, order and view laboratory tests, generate prescriptions and provide referrals.
The Capers family, which has been a PHP member for a total of 105 years, and Borough President Marty Markowitz were among the attendees.
Grand opening festivities included free health screenings, tours of the pediatrics offices and hematology/oncology infusion sites.
