A mugger killed a 67-year-old on 18th Street on Jan. 9 when he shoved the senior to the ground, knocking the victim’s head against the pavement, cops said.
Long Island resident Jesus Morales was in Greenwood Heights to buy a car when the perp struck at 7:15 pm between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
The assailant knocked the victim down, stole his wallet, watch, and wedding band, then fled, according to an NYPD spokesman.
Cops responded to a call about a robbery and found Morales sprawled out on the sidewalk with severe head injuries.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Lutheran Medical Center, where he passed away.
Police released a photo of Morales’s stolen wedding band in hopes it will lead them back to the killer.
