1912 Prospect Park carousel will reopen to the public on April
17, not April 5 as previously announced by the Prospect Park
Alliance.
The 15-ton carousel, enjoyed, at left, by Brooklyn Borough President
Marty Markowitz at the Alliance’s Carousel Ball last Oct. 19,
is undergoing major repairs on its tilting base. After April
17, the carousel’s hours are Thursdays-Sundays and holidays from
noon to 5 pm.
Rides are $1, or $5 for a book of six tickets. To get to the
carousel, enter the Children’s Corner near Flatbush Avenue and
