Run for the military

If you love freedom, thank a vet – plus help raise money for the families of those who made the supreme sacrifice.

Pint−sized patriots showed their true colors by pounding the pavement in Dyker Heights for the kin of deceased war heroes during a benefit children’s run, sponsored by the Dyker Heights Association.⁄St. Bernadette Organization’s Knights in conjunction with News 12.

The two−mile run drew close to 300 participants, who put their best foot forward along 12th Avenue, from 82nd to 66th streets, to raise money for the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund.

The winners were Julian Morelli and Danielle Cowan.

Among those cheering them on was a group from the Wounded Warriors Project.
