Stanley Gershbein (“It’s Only My Opinion”), I, and millions of Americans, care about the caribou and their migration patterns in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge.
I am sorry you are willing to sacrifice them on the altar of big oil.
Wayne Johnson, Ph.D
Brooklyn Heights
Stanley Gershbein replies:
Dear Dr. Johnson,
It’s not a question of “the altar of big oil,” but a matter affecting my pocketbook.
Some were willing to sell out the caribou when gas went to two bucks a gallon. Some at three. I held out until I started paying three-fifty.
I believe that everyone who drives has a price that, when reached, he’ll say, “To heck with Dasher and Dancer. Let's start drilling.”
Thank you so much for writing. It is wonderful to know that there are still people like you, who disagree with me on something without jumping into the gutter.
