Granny conned
A pair of good-for-nothings scammed a little, old lady on Gelston Avenue out of $3,770 on Jan. 16, police said.
One crook knocked on the door to her apartment between 88th and 90th streets in Bay Ridge at 3 pm, saying he was from the water company and needed to come into her home, per officers.
While the first goon distracted the 90-year-old woman, his partner snuck in and took silver certificates, collectors’ items, and $3,020 in cash, a police report says.
Door-buster
A ne’er-do-well busted the lock on a 95th Street apartment and stole $15,900 in swag on Jan. 12, cops said.
The burglar broke into the apartment between Third and Fourth avenues in Bay Ridge sometime between 8:30 am and 8:30 pm, removing jewelry, blank checks, and $7,400 in cash, police said.
Midnight mugging
Police arrested one person who they say was part of a group that stole a man’s phone at knifepoint on Fifth Avenue in the minutes between Jan. 17 and 18.
A pack of punks chased the man near 67th Street in Bay Ridge between 11:55 pm and 12:01 am, officers said. He fell to the ground, and one member of the gang flashed a blade and took the man’s cellphone, cops allege.
Purse purloined
A bandit stole a woman’s purse as she was exiting the subway at Fourth Avenue and 85th Street in Bay Ridge on Jan. 18, according to the authorities.
When the victim came street-side sometime between 2:20 and 2:30 pm, the goon pushed her to the ground and snatched her bag, police said.
Bag grabbed
A sneak stole the contents of a woman’s purse at an 86th Street department store on Jan. 16, officers said.
The victim was shopping between Fourth and Fifth avenues in Bay Ridge at 3:50 pm when she set her pocketbook down and walked away for a moment, per police.
When she came back, the purse was in a different spot, and it was short $20 and credit cards, according to cops.
