Explore the depths of the Atlantic through
the windows of a deep-sea submarine – in less than six minutes.
As if you needed another reason to visit Coney Island’s New York
Aquarium, the "Deep Sea 3-D" experience ride is now
open.
To prepare for your journey, there is a pre-show about the sperm
whales and giant squids you are about to meet.
Then you "dive" into the water and interact with all
kinds of sea creatures as you skim the ocean floor on a bumpy
submarine ride. (For those nervous about rough seas, chairs are
adjustable for a smooth ride.)
"It’s very exciting," said Aquarium spokeswoman Fran
Hackett. "It’s entertaining, but it’s educational at the
same time. You really feel like you’re in a submarine."
Experience the "Deep-Sea" every day from 10:30 am to
8 pm through Oct. 31. Tickets are $6, $4 with purchase of an
Aquarium admission ticket at The New York Aquarium (Surf Avenue
