Police arrested a 37-year-old man for driving without a license after he slammed his Mercedes Benz into two parked cars and flipped his vehicle on 41 Street near Ninth Avenue in Sunset Park on Oct. 5.
The Borough Park resident was driving along the street toward Ninth Avenue at around 10 am when he lost control of the vehicle and collided into a Toyota Prius with a 39-year-old woman in the driver’s seat — and a second, unoccupied vehicle. The impact of the crash rolled the ride over and smashed the windshield.
The driver of the Mercedes Benz told police that the car’s steering and brakes failed, said a department spokesman.
But police arrested him after discovering that his license had previously been suspended. He was charged with driving without a license and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, said authorities.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries — the man went to Maimonides Medical Center and the woman went to Lutheran Medical Center, said a department spokesman.
