Someone shot two teenagers near a Williamsburg high school this afternoon, just before the final bell, police said.
The goon opened fire on a 14-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy around 3 pm on Grand Street between Bushwick Avenue and Humboldt Street, according to the authorities. The girl got hit in the leg and the boy in the arm, and emergency medical personnel transported them to Bellevue Hospital Center in Manhattan for treatment, officers said.
The shooting occurred half a block from Progress High School for Professional Careers, the final period of which ends at 3:37 pm, according to its website. The period prior ends at 2:47, the site says.
Police would not say whether the victims were students at the school, nor did they have a description of the shooter or the condition of the victims. No one answered calls placed to the school on Tuesday afternoon.
