Mark your calendar for two shredding events sponsored by the Hoyt Street Association: November 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hoyt Street Garden, corner of Hoyt Street and Atlantic Avenue; and November 21, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the David Foulke Garden, Bergen Street, west of Nevins Street.
Bring your leaves, twigs, vines, and branches to the Hoyt Street Garden and have it turned into valuable mulch for your garden or flower boxes by “Jaws,” the association’s professional chipper/shredder machine.
Branches must be no more than one and a half inches in diameter, with no nails, please. It’s best if the material to be shredded is dry.
All shredding will be done by Craig Fithian. Bring a large plastic bag with your name on it to take your mulch home.
