Shul house rocked
Thugs broke into a South Eighth Street synagogue overnight on Jan. 23 and snatched cash from charity boxes.
The thieves threw a cinder block through a glass window to break into the temple between 7:30 pm and 8 am. Once inside, the crooks grabbed $150 from three donation boxes, then fled from the temple, which is between Berry Street and Bedford Avenue.
Two-man rush
Two football fanatics tackled a 23-year-old on Jan. 27 and stole his cellphone and wallet.
The perps made a blindside hit, sacking the 23-year-old victim as he walked on Moore Street at around 9:30 pm.
“Give me your wallet and phone,” one of the thugs demanded as he pinned the victim to the ground between Graham Avenue and Humboldt Street.
The victim forked over his phone and his wallet, which contained credit cards, IDs, and a Metrocard.
Grocery bagged
Thieves pillaged a Grand Street grocery overnight on Jan. 28, making off with more than $4,000.
The crooks broke into the bodega between 11 pm and 8 am the next morning and ransacked the shop, damaging the ATM, heisting money from a cash register, and grabbing $500 worth of phone cards.
Before fleeing from the grocery, which is between Humboldt Street and Bushwick Avenue, the thieves snatched the videotape from the surveillance camera.
Sidekicked and shoved
A mean mugger snatched a 14-year-old’s cellphone as he walked home from school on Jan. 29.
The thief pounced at about 3:40 pm when the victim was talking with his mother on his Sidekick as he walked on South Eighth Street.
The hoodlum struggled with the teen before he grabbed the phone and fled from the block between Berry Street and Bedford Avenue.
Hi-fi heist
Crooks broke into a Devoe Street apartment on Jan. 29 while the victim was at work and grabbed nearly $2,000 worth of electronics.
The thieves got into the home, which is between Judge and Olive streets, between 9 am and 6 pm, and stole the 24-year-old victim’s MacBook computer, MP3 player, digital camera, modem, router, and VCR and DVD player.
Juiced
A nimble thief snatched a wallet from a 28-year-old woman’s purse while she shopped in a Bedford Avenue bodega on Jan. 26.
The crook yanked the victim’s purple wallet — which contained IDs and credit cards — from her bag as she purchased juice at a grocery at the corner of South Second Street at around 11:30 pm, then escaped unnoticed.
