Robbing them blinds
Some filcher took fabric blinds from a loading dock near Flushing Avenue sometime between April 8 and 16, the victim reported on April 17.
The victim said that blinds were delivered to the loading dock near Sixth Street and Morris Avenue, then stolen sometime between 11 a.m. on April 8 and 4 p.m. a week later, police said.
Backpack bandit
A pilferer snatched a backpack from a Fulton Street bar on April 16.
The sneak thief stole the victim’s bag that contained her laptop while she was at the bar near Rockwell and Ashland Place around 11:30 p.m., police said.
Social media scammer
A scoundrel tried to extort money from a guy near a N. Oxford Walk residence sometime between April 14 and 16, the victim reported on April 16, police said.
The victim chatted with a lady over Facebook and exchanged explicit messages and private photos from his residence near Myrtle and N. Portland Avenue around 1 a.m. between April 14 and 16, police said.
After their online exchange, a villian hopped on the chat asking for $5,000 or else he would post the sensitive content all over social media, according to police.
The reprobate lowered his asking price down to $900, but the victim made no deal and didn’t pay him, police said.
Where’s my car?
A weasel stole a trailer parked at an Atlantic Avenue station sometime between April 16 and 17.
The lawbreaker removed the Ford Eco from its parking spot at a gas station near Classon Avenue and Lefferts Place sometime between 4:30 p.m. on April 16 and 11:27 a.m. the next day, police said.
Cleaning them out
A crook swiped packages from a Fulton Street building on April 17.
Police said the thief forced their way through the front door of the place near Downing Street around 1 a.m. and walked off with packages containing a vacuum and fertilizer.
Credit card crook
A robber stole money from a man’s bank account near Fleet Place sometime between April 9 and 10.
According to police, the victim never received his new debit card in the mail, but money was taken out near Myrtle Avenue.
Blink of an eye
A sneak thief robbed a woman at a Myrtle Avenue automated teller machine on April 18.
The victim placed her cellphone on the cash dispenser near Vanderbilt Avenue around 8 a.m., and when she turned to put her belongings away, it was gone, according to police.
Police said the victim saw a man loitering nearby and they were the only two in the bank, but the victim said he did not respond when asked about the phone.
Credit crime
A fraudster syphoned almost $2,000 from a guy’s bank account at Myrtle Avenue sometime between March 26 and 28, the victim reported on April 18.
According to police, the victim signed up for a new credit card that never came. Then, the nogoodnik stole the money sometime between March 26 and 28 and the card was intercepted at the bank between Vanderbilt and Clinton Avenue, police said.
Caught in crossfire
A gunman shot a teen near Ashland Place on April 18.
The criminal shot a firearm three times and one shot grazed the victim’s leg while she was hanging out with friends near Myrtle Avenue at 6:10 p.m., police said.
Wedding ring robbery
A looter stole a woman’s wedding ring at her Waverly Avenue apartment sometime between April 13 and 20.
The victim put her wedding ring in a jewelry box on April 13 around 4:30 p.m. before leaving her residence between Greene and Gates Avenue, police said.
According to police, the woman returned home on April 20 around 4:30 p.m. from a trip to Nigeria, and her wedding ring and other expensive jewelry were missing from the box.
