Spirit of volunteerism burns bright at Carroll Park

Brooklyn has a big heart.

Hundreds of volunteers – young and old – were inspired to beautify their borough, plus assist and support their neighbors, during a volunteer mobilization day and festival at Carroll Park.

The selfless bunch carried out more than 25 community service projects during the program of family fun and activism at the recreation oasis, Smith and Carroll streets, presented by the not-for-profit Children for Children (CFC) in partnership with People to People’s Student Ambassador Programs.

The vollies planted flowers for seniors, painted a mural for the local school and made a peace bracelet as for a domestic violence victim as part of “an afternoon of music, popcorn, games and youth activism” featuring age-appropriate projects.
