Call it good, clean fun.

A pack of kind-hearted Kings Countians gathered in Gravesend and Coney Island on Saturday to sweep the streets and pick up litter at a pair of spring clean-up events sponsored by Councilman Mark Treyger (D-Coney Island). The local pol tweeted his thanks to the locals who came out and represented various neighborhood organizations for a good cause.

“This is what community is all about!” Treyger tweeted. “Coney Island Girl Scouts, Coney Island Cathedral Church, Good Brothers, Wildcat cleaners, and other organizations and residents took part in our neighborhood spring clean-up along Mermaid Avenue this morning!”

The posse of do-gooders tidied up the stretch of Mermaid Avenue from West 37th Street to Stillwell Avenue, and Avenue U from 86th Street to McDonald Avenue.
