St. Edmund Preparatory High School’s Class of 2013 entered the building for the first time this week. The freshmen, pictured giving a thumbs up, attended an assembly where they were greeted by the principal, John Lorenzetti, and staff, before they went to their classes to meet their new teachers, receive books and make new friends.
The school’s upperclassmen volunteered to help the students find their classes, navigate the new library/media center and perform that most difficult of tasks for freshmen, open the locks on their lockers.
Administration, faculty and staff ate with the students in the cafeteria where they were treated to a free lunch. The students are looking forward to joining the more than 60 extra curricular activities offered at “The Prep,” 2474 Ocean Avenue.
