Cops arrested a teen on Tuesday, one day after quiet Fifth Street erupted in a violent stabbing that hospitalized another teenager in what several students at nearby John Jay HS said was a gang-related attack.
The 14-year-old was nabbed at his Sixth Avenue home, though two other thugs remain at large, cops said.
Witnesses told The Brooklyn Paper that the stabbing occurred on Monday at around 2:15 pm between Sixth and Seventh avenues — very close to the John Jay HS building.
“It was definitely gang-related,” said the girlfriend of the 16-year-old victim, who suffered a serious puncture to his liver.
Though cops said the knifeman and the victim did not know each other, the girlfriend said they did — and that the assailant was from another school and targeted her paramour because “he used to be in a gang.”
