These kids may be small — but their talents are huge.
The 15th-annual talent show at Sheepshead Bay’s PS 238 on Dec. 11 gave youngsters a chance to show off their skills at singing, dancing, and playing instruments on stage at the school’s holiday show.
The night was all about watching their little stars shine, according to one of the organizers.
“There is a lot of talent in our school — we have some kids that are going to go professional,” said Ilene Mizrach, the talent show’s music director.
There were 24 acts in the show, including a few teacher performances. Mizrach said she organizes the program with Shari Ribiat, the show’s dance director. Because there was such an array admirable of performances, Mizrach said it would be impossible to narrow down a single star student.
“All the children are winners — we don’t want to make it that any particular act was better than others,” she said. “They’re all good in their own ways. It is an expression of their talents.”
The youngsters practice all year for the talent show, and sometimes the kids even practice their performances after school or during their lunch hour — but Mizrach said it is all worth it.
“The kids really love doing this,” she said.
