Standing O is thrilled to welcome back Au Bon Pain in Downtown. The cafe bakery re-opened on April 18 after a very long winter of renovations.
The place is beautiful, and manager Tommy has made sure that the crew serves up the goodies with a smile and a warm welcome. Standing O was treated to a guest breakfast on April 18 during a practice run. Food server Amanda took my order and quick as you can say “caramel macchiato” my order was cooked to perfection and served with smile.
Standing O is planning on trying everything on the menu.

Standing O hears that Lutheran Healthcare has partnered with New York Organ Donor network to promote awareness, as part of Donate Life Month in April. To celebrate, Lutheran is highlighting the importance of organ donation and encourages New Yorkers to enroll in the New York State Donate Life Registry.
“I can hardly think of a more selfless and kind expression of humanity other than giving a complete stranger the gift of life,” said Dr. Geraci, chairman of the Organ Donor Council. Neither can Standing O.

Prospect Park vollies, including David Ford, Robert Fisher, and Lisa Berger, received the Mary Cregg Award for generously giving more than 250 hours of service in a single year.
Special Certificates of Appreciation were also given out to Kevin Franklin, Christine Geeng, Elise Heffernan, Jessica Mazo, Daphne Dixon, and Catrin Egan for their service to the park.
The awards were presented at a recognition brunch on March 15, with pies from Smiling Pizza, treats from Trader Joe’s, sweets from Connecticut Muffin, and other edibles from Bon Soir Caterers, Whole Foods Market, and Wing Stop.
“Volunteers are an important part of any organization, however, in Prospect Park they are essential to help keep the park beautiful and clean for everyone to enjoy,” said Eric Landau, Prospect Park Alliance’s vice president of Government and External Affairs.
Standing O says, “Congratulations and keep on serving, the park is greener because of you.”
