Spinners 4
Cyclones 2

Sunday, Sept. 6 at Keyspan Park

The last regular-season game ended with a tough loss against the Spinners, who may see the Cyclones again in the post-season.

The Cyclones got on the board first, with two runs in the third on RBI singles by Luis Rivera and Scott Grimes.

But that was all the Cyclones would get as Lowell picked apart the bullpen after starter James Fuller was pulled in the fourth to save his arm for the playoffs.

Rehabbing Met legend Carlos Beltran was 1-for-5 on the night and struck out three times against Class-A pitching. He even weakly popped up to shortstop to end the game with the tying runs on base.

Hero or goat? You decide: As a Cyclone, Beltran hit all of .167.

With the regular season over, the Cyclones will open a best-of-three-game series against the pesky Pinkney Division champion Mahoning Valley Scrappers on Tuesday night at home.

Game time is at 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased online.
