Mirror, mirror on the wall, who has the fairest shutters of them all along Willoughby Street?
Downtown Brooklyn pedestrians will be spoiled for choice as they take in an eye−pleasing saunter along Williamsburg where 12 vacant storefronts have been transformed into a street−level art gallery, thanks to an innovative art initiative aptly entitled, “Willoughby Windows.”
More than a dozen artists with deep roots in the street art movement contributed to the project between Duffield and Bridge streets, presented by the MetroTech BID and Ad Hoc Art in partnership with Avalon Bay and United American Land.
“This network of visual experiences can help redefine how people visiting, working and living in Downtown Brooklyn think about and interact with their environment during a time of transition,” said a MetroTech BID spokesperson.
Willoughby Windows grace storefronts from 106−92 Willoughby Street.
