Super scoopers at Kingsborough

Ready, set, go!

With the Summer Olympics around the corner, Brooklyn’s sweet-toothed slurpers took a competitive turn of their own as they vied for bragging rights – downing dollop after dollop of the delight – during a benefit ice cream contest and beach party at Kingsborough Community College.

The fundraiser for Bensonhurst teen Ciro Patalano, who suffers from acute lymphocytic leukemia, drew big-hearted gulpers to the college beach on Oriental Boulevard for the treat tourney, hosted by ‘Ice Cream Gal’ and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) activist Maria Campanella and State Senator Marty Golden.

The winners, who were awarded gift certificates, were Ciro’s dad, Michael, who wolfed down close to six pints; and Ron Rondan and Ann Marie Sgroi, who downed five and four pints of the confection, respectively.
