Cutting edge hair experts at Salon Da Noi received tips from the top when world-famous hair artist Cristiano Cora stopped by to inform stylists about the latest trends in the hair and beauty industry.
Cora made the guest appearance as part of owner Olympia Colandrea’s initiative to update and motivate her workers with “education workshops” to better serve their clients at the high end salon, 8214 Fifth Avenue, which specializes in cuts, color, bridal and prom work, and evening hair in addition to braiding, extensions, plus spa and body treatments.
“Now, people don’t have to go to Manhattan for the same type of hair services,” said Colandrea, adding that Cora’s visit helped acquaint her staff with new trends and new cutting techniques, some of which the coiffeur, whose work has graced national and international media outlets, demonstrated on a model.
Although he normally charges upwards of $300 for a haircut, Cora is sympathetic to the plight of the jobless, giving free cuts as a boost to those who can show proof of their unemployment; a service which Salon Da Noi will also offer in the New Year.
Salon Da Noi is open: Tuesday-Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Although the salon is closed on Mondays, it will be court late shoppers with a holiday special on Monday, December 21, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., when any purchase of a $100 gift card will be accompanied by an additional $20 gift card for any spa treatment.
