Sandwich scam!
A couple of scammers yanked thousands of dollars from a lady at a Flatbush Avenue sandwich shop at an Atlantic Avenue arena by promising her some cash, then scrammed before she caught them in the act on July 28.
The victim told cops two women approached her while she was at the sandwich shop and told her they found an envelope of cash they were willing to split if she gave them some money.
The lady forked over $2,000 and the duo told her to a nearby bank and ask for “Mr. Weinstein,” but there was no Mr. Weinstein to be found, cops said. The lady returned to the sandwich shop, but the scammers were already gone, a police report states.
Shop of pain
Three punks attacked and robbed a store-owner while he was opening up his Butler Street shop in the early morning hours of July 28.
The victim was opening his store between Nevins Street and Third Avenue at 5:30 am when three guys in blue jeans came up and punched him in the face, then grabbed his wallet and cellphone, police said.
The victim had cuts on his head, bruising, and red eyes, a police report states. Cops say the perps fled on foot down Butler Street towards Third Avenue.
Snapple smash
A guy smashed his co-worker over the arm with a glass Snapple bottle at a Fourth Avenue deli on July 28 — then hoofed it out of there.
The co-workers were at a deli near 11th Street at 8:30 am when the scoundrel struck the victim on his left arm with the glass bottle, causing pain and swelling, cops say. The perp fled on foot in an unknown direction and so far no arrests have been made, a police report states.
Grand theft trio
A thieving trio tried to steal a guy’s car on Fifth Avenue on July 30, then fled the scene in another stolen car.
The car-owner left his vehicle running near Berkley Place while he ran into a nearby store at 3 pm, and then he spotted three teens trying to take it away, a police report states.
Cops say the unholy trinity fled in a stolen Dodge Caravan down St. John’s Place towards Eighth Avenue, then turned and continued towards Flatbush Ave.
