Do you deplore the vulgar 24⁄7 tabloidization of contemporary American culture? Rest assured, the public’s appetite for scandal and the media’s eagerness to feed it were just as uncurbed in the past.
Author Ben Feldman returns to Green−Wood Cemetery, July 12 at 1 p.m., for a talk on his new book, “Call Me Daddy: Babes and Bathos in Edward West Browning’s Jazz Age New York,” another sensational but true tale about one of Green−Wood’s infamous residents, Edward “Daddy” Browning, and his underage mistress Frances “Peaches” Heenan.
Join Feldman and Green−Wood Cemetery historian Jeff Richman afterwards for a trolley tour of Green−Wood’s most scandalous residents. Purchase tickets for the tour here.
The event is free, though there is a suggested donation of $5. The trolley tour is $20â„$10 for Historic Fund members. Space is limited. To make your online reservationâ„purchase tickets, call 718−768−7300 or email info@greenwoodcemetery.org.
