Teenage wasteland
Teenage criminals ran wild last week. Here’s a roundup:
• Two boys were arrested for cornering another kid and stealing his money in the staircase of George Westinghouse HS on Johnson Street on April 22 and 24.
While one perp searched the victim’s pockets during the lunch break, his friend kept lookout in the school, located between Jay and Bridge streets.
• Four boys stole $1,800 worth of stuff from a younger girl on Smith Street on May 6.
The girl was walking home from school at around 2:15 pm when a delinquent barred her path and said, “Give me all your things!”
She handed over her jacket, iPod and diamond earrings, and the perps fled.
• Two boys snatched another teen’s Sidekick phone on the corner of Clinton Street and Joralemon Street on May 5.
One perp approached the victim at 8:30 pm and said, “What’s up with that Sidekick?” before demanding it. The victim tried to flee, but the second perp joined his buddy, and the crime was concluded.
• Two young teenage girls mugged a woman on Red Cross Place and Cadman Plaza for her cellphone on May 8.
When the victim tried to get the phone back after the 2 pm mugging, the other girl blocked her and said, “You’re not following us!” She then punched the woman in the face for good measure.
• A boy was arrested for bashing a middle-aged woman and stealing her phone on Willoughby Street on May 8. The victim was near Flatbush Avenue, checking her messages at around 4 pm when the thug threw her against a building, grabbed her Blackberry phone and ran away.
Gym jack
Here’s another example of the classic locker lift: a man stole various personal items from a locker in the City Tech University gym on Jay Street on May 4.
The victim told cops that he put his locker key down nearby when he started his workout at around 3 pm. When he finished up, the key was gone — and so was his cellphone, glasses, keys, social security card and $20 from the gym, which is between Johnson and Tillary streets.
