Afternoon robbery
Two punks assaulted and robbed a woman on Humboldt Street on Feb. 23.
The victim told police that she was near Boerum Street on her way home at 4:20 pm when two men threw her to the ground and then tried to pull her handbag away from her while kicking her in the head.
The teens couldn’t wrestle her purse away, but they did take her iPhone from her pocket before running away.
Not as quiet as a cat
A burglar broke into a home on Ten Eyck Street on Feb. 24 while the residents were sleeping — and stole a MacBook Pro laptop computer and a green card.
One of the victims told police he heard somebody in his apartment between Lorimer and Leonard streets at 3:15 am, but assumed it was his roommate. When he woke up later that morning, he found his computer and green card missing.
The 24-year-old resident told police that he couldn’t remember if he had locked the apartment door or if the window to the fire escape was open.
No exit plan
Police arrested a man who allegedly broke into an apartment building on Johnson Avenue on Feb. 23 — and then got trapped in the backyard.
A building resident called cops after she returned from walking her dog at 8:42 am and a stranger followed her into the building, which is between Graham Avenue and Humboldt Street. She told police she rushed to her door, locked herself in her apartment, and looked through the peep hole to see the man run out to the back lot area.
When the man realized he was stuck in the backyard, he pulled out a screwdriver and tried to pry open the back door. The woman called police, who arrived to find the man still working on the back door, cops said. He tried to run away, and then fought back when police arrested him, cops reported.
Folklift stolen
A constructive burglar stole a forklift from a stone purveyor on Johnson Avenue on Feb. 18.
The owner of the machinery told police he came into his business between Bushwick Place and White Street at 8:30 am to find one of his forklifts and some gas tanks missing. The victim guessed that the thief got into an unlocked door and then cut the lock on the gate to where the forklifts are stored. The business does have cameras, but they weren’t working at the time.
Two to tango
Police arrested two men who they say got into an argument in a store on Vandervoort Avenue on Feb. 21 that escalated into physical altercation with weapons.
The brawlers told police they were in the business between Maspeth Avenue and Rewe Street at noon when a dispute got ugly. Cops cuffed a 44-year-old man for allegedly slashing his 50-year-old rival with a knife. Officers arrested the older suspect for purportedly beating the other man with a shovel.
