The South Brooklyn Pulaski Parade Committee will celebrate their 49th Anniversary Miss Polonia Pageant, Dinner−Dance and Presentation of Junior Miss at Sirico’s, 8015 13th Avenue, May 31.
Joseph B. Rudis will be sashed South Brooklyn Marshal, and Miss Polonia 2009 will be chosen to represent the South Brooklyn contingent in the South Brooklyn Pulaski Parade, scheduled to march up Fifth Avenue in New York, October 4.
There is still time for young single women, between the ages of 16−22 to sign up for the pageant.
To become Miss Polonia, the young lady must be of Polish extraction, a resident of Brooklyn or parishioner of Our Lady of Czestichowaâ„St. Casimir Church. Miss Polonia and her Ladies in Waiting will have the opportunity to ride on South Brooklyn’s float, donated annually by the Atlas Savings and Loan Association.
All contestants will receive trophies, gifts and souvenirs of the event.
