It was an all-American good time!
Actors Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys of television spy drama “The Americans” turned out to the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s annual black-tie ball on Thursday night, and organizers say the famous Brooklyn Heights residents added some real star power to the park advocacy group’s soiree under the stars.
“It was fun seeing Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys,” said conservancy director Nancy Webster. “It just added a bit of extra glamour to the evening.”
Around 800 guests joined the celebs on Pier 2 for the big bash, raising $1.1 million for the group, which organizes events and activities in the waterfront parkland.
The park is great on a regular day, but even better when it is decked out for a sunset shindig with waiters serving you cocktails and a three-course dinner, according to one attendee.
“I was blown away,” said Tim Schneider, a real estate broker who lives in Carroll Gardens. “I love Brooklyn Bridge Park and the event was incredible.”
Comedian Wyatt Cenac emceed the evening, which also honored hotelier Barry Sternlicht — who will soon open the doors to his controversial 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge — and paid tribute to outgoing park president Regina Myer, who is stepping down from her post in November.
Following the main event, guests let their hair down at the after-party, where they boogied the night away to the tunes of dance-party guru DJ Herbert Holler.
Russell and Rhys skipped the post-ball festivities — the pair had a baby boy in May — but that didn’t stop the rest of the attendees from busting out their best moves, according to Webster.
“Our after-party was a blow out with lots of energy and fun,” she said.
