ATM AWOL
A brazen crook stole the money drawer from an automated teller machine on Hoyt Street on April 9 with a move straight out of a movie, police said.
Police say a perp broke the drawer containing cash out of the machine near Schermerhorn Street at 2:40 am by connecting a metal chain from the rear bumper of his black sports utility vehicle to the front of the ATM.
The thief drove away south on Hoyt Street, taking the drawer — containing $7,810 in cash — with him.
F-ing train
Police arrested a 20-year-old man who they say stole the iPhone of a woman who fell asleep on the Manhattan-bound F train near the Jay Street-Metrotech station on April 12, police claimed.
A witness saw the crime aboard the train at 4:10 am, and held the suspect until police came and took him into custody.
Haul that
Someone stole the pocketbook of a woman shopping at a Fulton Street department store on April 13, police said.
The woman tried on a jacket on the second floor of the store, near Hoyt Street, at 6 pm, leaving her bag on the floor. When she turned around, the bag — which contained about $750 — was gone.
Rouge rogue
Someone took a suitcase containing $10,000 worth of makeup from a car parked on Front Street on April 14, police said.
As the victim walked back to her car between Washington and York streets at 4:40 pm, she noticed some items belonging her lying on the sidewalk. She checked her car truck, and sure enough, her make-up chest — which she used for work — was gone.
Going through withdrawal
A sneaky thief picked a man’s wallet while the victim was withdrawing money from an ATM at Metrotech Center on April 9, police said.
The victim told police he didn’t notice the theft at the time, but 10 minutes after he left the machine at 2:15 pm, his wallet was missing — along with about $100 inside.
Poor Porsche
Someone stole a white Porsche parked on Bergen Street on April 9, police claimed.
The victim told police he parked the vehicle between Nevins Street and Third Avenue, and when he returned at 10:07 pm, noticed it was missing from its parking space. The car contained an expensive Rolex worth nearly $10,000, the victim said.
Teenage riot
A 16-year-old girl assaulted a store employee who caught her stealing $47 worth of clothes from a shop on Fulton Street on April 10, police said.
Police say when the emloyee at the store near Lawrence Street tried to stop the girl at 3:12 pm, she started punching and flailing her arms. When cops arrested the teenager, she allegedly lied about her name and date of birth in an attempt to avoid prosecution.
Break away
Police arrested a 30-year-old man who they say stole a bank card from a woman on Fulton Street on April 8.
The woman was near Hanover Place at 3:30 pm when the suspect punched her in the head and pulled on her bag, police said. The suspect then took her bank card from the bag.
Ignition (remiss)
Someone stole a car parked on Fourth Avenue on April 9, police said.
A woman said she left her automobile near Bergen Street with the keys in the ignition and went into a store. When she came out at 11 pm, her car was missing.
White collar crime
A thief took a purse that a woman left under her the desk at her office on Court Street on April 10, police said.
The victim told cops she noticed her bag was missing from the office near Joralemon Street at 1:30 pm, and police said the credit card had been used. The bag contained about $100, a MetroCard, and a designer wallet.
Gone
A burglar stole an iPad, a MacBook, eyeglasses, a replica souvenir gun, a Kindle, and other miscellaneous objects from an apartment on Court Street on April 8, police said.
The victim said he noticed the items missing at 6:45 pm, after he returned from work to his apartment near Schermerhorn Street.
Cellfish
A quick pickpocket pinched an iPhone from a woman who was riding the B38 bus on Fulton Street on April 9, police claimed.
The woman said she was on the bus near Flatbush Avenue at 1 pm when she noticed a man bump into her.
