The Merchants of Third Avenue Civic Improvement Association, a non-profit serving the Third Avenue retail corridor for more than30 years, has been awarded an Avenue NYC Economic Development grant from the New York City Department of Small Business Services.
The grant allocates $25,000 to a Market Study of the Bay Ridge area surrounding Third Avenue.The study, an in-depth survey of local residents, will help:
• Understand the buying habits and desires of the community;
• Gain insight from local consumers to improve business practices, products and promotions;
• Communicate with the community about events, new store openings and special offers;
• Identifytype of businesses people want on the Avenue in order attract the right retailers to fill vacant spaces on the Avenue.
The survey is available online at www.thirdavenuebayridge.com on the left navigation bar. A print format will be available at stores on Third Avenue mid October.
The grant was made possible through the New York City Department of Small Business Services, Avenue NYC Program.
