Elevated threat
Cops recorded three elevator robberies in the Ingersoll and Walt Whitman houses this week, one inside the elevator, one just as the victim exited, and one at the victim’s front door. Here’s how the crimes went down.
• Three goons threw down and robbed a 66-year-old woman as she walked out of the elevator of a Navy Walk building on Nov. 4, the authorities said.
The victim said she took the elevator to the second floor of the building between Tillary Street and Myrtle Avenue at 5 pm, and when she left, two galoots grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the floor as the third took her purse.
• A couple of toughs robbed a man at knifepoint that same night inside of a Saint Edwards Street building, police said.
The 51-year-old victim said he entered the elevator in the building between Park and Myrtle avenues at 8:15 pm, and found two bandits brandishing knives inside. The degenerates demanded cash and the victim forked over $920, cops said.
• A lowlife followed to her front door inside of a Cumberland Walk building on Nov. 8, then pushed her to the ground and stole her purse, police said.
The 57-year-old victim said she got off the elevator in the building between N. Portland and Carlton avenues at 4 pm and the scoundrel followed her to her apartment door. When she got to the door and unlocked it, the trickster asked if she wanted to buy an electronic music player, according to a police report.
The fiend then shoved the woman into her apartment and snatched her purse, cops stated. The crook made off with $28 in cash, a hat, a scarf, and some candy, the woman reported.
Park after dark
Two derelicts robbed a man on DeKlab Avenue at and Carlton Avenue on Nov. 1, police said.
The 39-year-old victim said he was walking on DeKalb towards Fort Greene Park at 12:15 am when the predatory pair approached from behind. One of the villains placed what felt like a gun to the back of the victim’s head and removed his wallet without saying a word, according to a police report. The other goon grabbed the victim’s phone from his hand, officers recounted.
Arrested development
Cops cuffed four teens who they say robbed a man in the parking area under the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway on Nov. 4.
The 21-year-old victim told the authorities that he and a friend were walking under the elevated highway, at N. Oxford Walk at 7:35 pm when a team of youths surrounded them. Two of the suspects punched the victims in their faces while another threatened them with a box-cutter, cops said.
The accused made off with three cellphones and a gray knit hat, per police. Officers arrested three of the suspects at 8:58 pm, on Carlton Avenue between Park and Myrtle avenues, and picked up the fourth an hour later, records show.
Subway snatch
A quick-moving culprit snatched a woman’s cellphone aboard a Manhattan-bound C train on Nov. 5, and jumped off the train at the Lafayette Avenue station, cops said.
The 22-year-old victim said she was riding the train at 1:55 pm, and that as it pulled into the station the goon grabbed the device out of her hands and scrammed.
Subway sleeper
A crook stole a woman’s cellphone and wallet while she slept on a 2 train on Nov. 9, according to police.
The 22-year-old victim said she boarded the train in the Bronx at 12:30 am with her phone in her front pocket and her wallet in her purse.
She fell asleep shortly thereafter and did not wake up until the Nevins Street station, according to a report.
Once she exited the train, she realized her phone had been taken from her pocket and that someone had unzipped her purse and removed the wallet, NYPD officials said.
Brinks bust
Cops cuffed a man who stole $7,396 from his employer, the armored-truck company Brinks, between Aug. 22 and Sept. 3, according to the authorities.
The cash-handling company, which has an office in the Navy Yard, reported on Nov. 6 that the 47-year-old employee had been stealing money. Police arrested the suspect the same day, a report says.
Hands-bag
A fleet-footed opportunist grabbed a woman’s bag as she got her bike out of her basement on Carlton Avenue on. Nov. 3, officers stated.
The 33-year-old victim said she put the pouch down in her front yard, between Willoughby and DeKalb avenues, at 7:15 am, and went to retrieve her bike from the basement.
When she returned two minutes later the bag was gone, and with it, a laptop, a wallet, and a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, police said.
