Tips on getting your band booked

For most musicians looking to play in Brooklyn and the city at large, you go about doing it the hard way, learning from your mistakes gig by gig.

On June 28, get an education in booking shows with No Guest List, an evening at the Gowanus venue The Bell House featuring some of the city’s most talented talent buyers discussing the do’s and don’ts of booking shows in this town.

Scheduled to impart their wisdom are Johnny Beach (Bowery Ballroom⁄Music Hall Of Williamsburg); Doug DeFalco (JellyNYC); Chantelle Hylton−Simmons (Northside Festival⁄Knitting Factory); Jack McFadden (The Bell House⁄Union Hall); Brice Rosenbloom (Le Poisson Rouge⁄Brooklyn Masonic Temple); Yalan Papillons (Santo’s Party House); and Jake Szufnarowski (Rocks Off).

Hosting the event is comedian and Bell House favorite Eugene Mirman, and DJs The Devendorf Bros. (from The National) will provide the beats.

The event starts at 8 p.m., with tickets $5 and available at the door. The Bell House is located at 149 7th St.
