The best and brightest of Public School 255 were recognized with “Student of the Month” honors for all the hard work they do, in addition to excellent attendance records and exhibiting kindness towards others.
The honor, designated for a select few group of students each month, earns each Student of the Month winner with the privilege of wearing school sashes during the day, and brand new pencils, with which to produce more of the excellent work for which they were recognized.
Project Arts Liaison Miriam Rankin inaugurated the monthly initiative as a way of recognizing all of the young learners in grades K through five at PS 255, 1866 East 17th Street and Avenue R.
“It is a real honor to be chosen,” said PS 255 Principal Linda L. Singer, noting that “They live up to the goals and objectives of the school. We aim for the stars and our Students of the Month shine upon all of us.”
“These students are proud of themselves,” Singer noted, “and we are even prouder of all of their accomplishments.”
