Brighton kid robbed
Three goons robbed a 12-year-old of his cellphone at gunpoint on Brighton Seventh Street on Feb. 11.
The kid was between Ocean View Avenue and Brighton Seventh Court in Brighton Beach at 9 pm when the trio surrounded him, police said. One guy hit the pre-teen in the stomach with a wooden stick and another took his phone, a police report states.
When the goons realized the phone was locked, one guy whipped out a pistol and told the kid to enter his password, police said. With the phone unlocked, the thugs ran toward Neptune Avenue, according to law enforcement sources.
Brigand brandishes bat
Police arrested a suspect who they said used a baseball bat to intimidate a 50-year-old man on Surf Avenue and W. 30th Street in Coney Island on Feb. 13.
Police charge that the man demanded cash from the victim while brandishing a bat at 7:28 pm. The victim refused and walked away, so the suspect allegedly followed him, grabbed him by the arm, and raised the bat over his head, but someone called police and they arrested a suspect without any injury to the victim, police said.
Gate jacker jacks cash
A burglar used a car jack to open a security gate and steal a cash register from an 86th Street business on Feb. 13.
The crafty cretin pried open the gate to a car wash between McDonald Avenue and Lake Street at 7:30 pm, police said. Once inside, the thief ransacked the register area, taking a cash till, and leaving the rest of the register strewn about the sidewalk in front of the business, a police report states.
Brighton car break-ins
Someone broke into two parked cars at the corner of Brighton Beach Avenue and Brighton First Place over two days.
• In the first incident, the thief bashed in a rear, passenger-side window to a car at the intersection at 4 am on Feb. 14, taking $1,300 in electronics, police said.
• Then the brute repeated the same act on a different car at midnight on Feb. 15, taking $10, poker chips, cologne, and boots, a police report states.
