On Valentine’s
Day, Williamsburg’s Galapagos Art Space will present 26.2 Productions’s
"V-Day Brooklyn." The centerpiece of the one-night-only
event is a performance of Eve Ensler’s "The Vagina Monologues"
(pictured), directed by Theresa Rose, followed by live music
by rock band, America’s Sweetheart.
Already seen "The Vagina Monologues"? On this night,
a new monologue by Ensler, "The Comfort Women," will
be performed, too.
Audience members will take home gift bags, and they’ll have the
opportunity to win in-kind donations through a raffle.
Proceeds from "V-Day Brooklyn" will be donated to charities
dedicated to ending violence against women, including Safe Horizon,
Park Slope Partnership Against Domestic Violence and Planned
Parenthood NYC, according to producer Ciara Pressler.
"V-Day Brooklyn" begins at 7 pm on Feb. 14 at Galapagos
