Brooklyn’s Jewish War Veterans (JWV) remembered the six million killed in the Holocaust during a moving candle-light ceremony at Washington Cemetery.
Carrying flags and banners, JWV members gathered near the corner of Bay Parkway and McDonald Avenue where they stopped to pray by a stone honoring the memory of Jews lost in the Holocaust.
While those in attendance recalled the horrors they saw both during combat in World War II and as they helped to liberate concentration camps, they vowed never to let such a travesty happen again on their watch.
