Visitation Academy’s fifth through eighth graders presented their ideas for the future as part of the Bay Ridge school’s annual science fair.
Among the projects created by students at the school, 8902 Ridge Boulevard, were eyeglass frames with slits, enabling you to insert a dropper in the right place and not drop it on your face; a pacifier comprised of mesh in which crushed vitamins are inserted, making it easier for babies to swallow; a natural air freshener with cinnamon in apple juice and orange with cloves covered with mesh, in addition to environmentally−friendly soap with glycerin and water, and household products, hand lotion, lip gloss, and perfume.
One group decided Wite−Out should come in different colors and displayed how to do it, while another student invented a slip−on tie for shoes to hold the laces in place.
Several projects centered around back packs: a dual back pack, one in the front and one in the back to balance the weight; scales to determine how much your back pack should weigh compared to your weight; and a cover for backpacks in order to keep the contents dry from rain.
