These players really rallied!

Volleyball stars spiked the ball over the net and dove into the sand during the annual Volleyball Tournament on Coney Island Beach on Aug. 5, hosted by the Parks Department. One player who had been coming in second for years was proud to finally take home the gold with her teammate, said Rewa Chan, who lives in Midwood.

“It was awesome, we were undefeated all day,” said Chan, who has been playing the sport for decades.

It was the first time Chan and her teammate Luisa Domingues actually played together as a team, but they got in the groove right away and blew the other about seven pairs out of the water.

And Chan said she didn’t let the younger players let her lose sight of the proverbial trophy.

“I made my comeback, as old as I am. The young ones are trying to give me a run for my money but I wasn’t having it,” she said. “It was an extra-fun day.”

The first-place men’s team was just as happy to take home the gold, said player Slava Nikulim.

“It was perfect,” he said.
