Watercolors to whet your artistic whistle

Members of the Brooklyn Watercolor Society will be showing recent paintings at the WAHcenter, on Williamsburg, during four weekends in December starting December 6, 12-6 p.m. Some 30 members will contribute more than 80 works of art to the show.

There will be an artists’ reception on December 6, 6-8 p.m., for which the public is welcome to attend. The WAHcenter (Williamsburg Art and Historic Center) is at 135 Broadway in the historic landmark building of the former Kings County Savings Bank at Broadway and Bedford Avenue.

The society was founded in 1973 by a group of professional artists and art teachers with the goal of sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for the medium of transparent watercolor. Over the years the group has exhibited in a wide variety of venues in and around the borough including The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Kingsborough College, and the National Arts Club.

This is the first show in Williamsburg for the Brooklyn Watercolor Society. For information, go to www.bws.org.
