What about the Terrace?

Editor’s Note: This is a copy of a letter sent to Councilmember Bill de Blasio.

To The Editor:

As a member of your district and your neighbor, I am writing in response to the recent article in the Park Slope Courier (July 18, 2008) entitled: Council funds BK students: Special school projects receive money to continue. It was disturbing to see that the schools who received allocated funding from your office were in Park Slope and Carroll Gardens only. What happened to Windsor Terrace schools, where your office is located? Our families pay taxes too and also appreciate and have a voice where they want funding to go. Immaculate Heart of Mary School is right down the block from your office and we never received any funding.

I will certainly share this news with the “Tax Payer” families of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. We will also keep this in mind as you prepare your future in the public sect. Personally I am disappointed and upset that you have not considered sharing tax payer’s dollars with the entire community you represent. In addition, I have been pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish for the past three years and I have yet to meet you. I am always willing to meet and discuss further these concerns and issues.

With every good wish, I remain

Rev. Robert B. Adamo,

Pastor, Immaculate

Heart of Mary Church
