Staple guns

Dozens of DIY publishers and artists will gather at Pete’s Candy Store for its annual Pete’s Mini Zine Fest, which claims to be “the longest running zine fest in Brooklyn (that also happens to be held in a bar).” The lineup includes The Brooklyn Paper’s very own Bartoonist, Bill Roundy, so go get your favorite Barscrawl signed.

2–7 pm Pete’s Candy Store [709 Lorimer St. at Richardson Street in Williamsburg, (718) 302–3770, www.petescandystore.com]. Free.

Lamar, Fabolous, and Wale will also perform, alongside Big Sean.

Food fight

Chew on this — NY1 anchor and Williamsburg resident Pat Kiernan will return to the Bell House for another epic trivia night. This time the theme is “food,” but don’t expect cooking questions — the quiz will focus on edibles in music, movies, and popular culture.

7 pm at the Bell House [149 Seventh St. between Second and Third avenues in Gowanus, (718) 643–6510, www.thebellhouseny.com]. $26.

Star track

Get starry eyed at Brooklyn Bridge Park. The Amateur Astronomers Association of New York will be at the Pier 1 promenade to help you make sense of all those twinkling lights in the sky. Bring your own telescope, or use one of their giant ones.

Dusk at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 1 promenade (Near Furman and Old Fulton streets, www.brooklynbridgepark.org). Free.

Anchorman: Williamsburg resident Pat Kiernan has cultivated a devoted following as an anchor on NY1 since 1997, but he doubles as an expert in popular culture.
