If you call chef
Kevin McGowan (pictured) this summer, you can bet you’ll be spending
less time in the kitchen. McGowan’s business, Who’s in the Kitchen?
is all about making your life easier – specifically, making your
dinners and even your picnic baskets, so you can get out of the
kitchen and do what you love to do.
An example of a McGowan gourmet picnic basket for two people
(though he can also prepare them for four), includes grilled
chicken breast with Moroccan vegetable cous cous and a pate platter
to share (shown above). This pork pate is prepared with a black
peppercorn and brandy crust and served with taleggio cheese and
cornichons.
This Boerum Hill chef works with the client to prepare dishes
that appeal to them and he can work around dietary restrictions
– whether you require low carb, low salt or love lots of fat.
The picnic basket dishes are made to be served at room temperature,
and as the meals are all prepared fresh, McGowan requires 24-hours
notice. A deposit on the picnic basket is also needed – which
is reimbursed upon return of the basket. To order your perfect
picnic (starting at $15 per person) call (718) 834-7958. For
