Wild ride…

Two police officers sacrificed their car as they tried to avoid an accident in Mill Basin last week, officials said. Police said that the cruiser was nearing the corner of East 53rd Street and Avenue N at 11:30 p.m. on February 6 when a black sedan crossing the intersection blew a stop light. The police car immediately swerved to the right, where it hopped the curb and slammed into a light pole. Officials from the 63rd Precinct said that the car’s air bags deployed. Both cops suffered minor injuries. The driver of the black sedan never stopped and was still being sought by authorities as this paper went to press.
